1. The light bar is ALL green (360) with a yellow directional “arrow” setup on the back.

2.What agency could this be? I thought the standard was that green lights were for command vehicles only.

I am guessing that "no one" runs all green?

Hey, as a Okie, I got a stupid question. What do we do when approached by a vehicle displaying green lights? My first reaction would be a trash truck, so I guess I need to be educated...

Surely its something simple like pull to the right and stop...

To get a bit back on the topic of the "green light," in the city I work I know the Chiefs on the few year old Subarbans have the green light located in the center towards the rear on top. They are fully marked and even have their red light bars as well.
Haven't seen them run to a call so I cannot tell you if they run the little green strobe along with the full red light bar.

The only time I've seen the green light in use is on scene by the chief that's in command of that scene. When I asked about it (during a lull time for the official i asked), he indicated that this told people which chief's car was incident command. He also indicated that this helped when several chief's cars were on scene, which happens quite a bit on multiple alarm calls and when several agencies are assisting.

So, from n5ims said, the green light is to be used on scene, and not enroute to a scene.

I'm not sure what I would do if I was being "chased" with green lights.

I would probably call 311 or the Police number I have in my phone, and if they use green lights, they would confirm if its a real officer, if not they will send help.

Croaker90, your comment about being "chased" with green lights brings the vision of the Ghostbusters rushing to a sliming.

Forrestry Service?

As for green being used to designate a command vehicle, I believe this applies specifically to a single green strobe seperate from the lightbar mounted on top of the vehicle only. Ive seen numerous EMS and fire agencies with green lights as one of the auxilliary strobes on the side of the vehicle or a few slots of green on a light bar, most of them were NW of Ft Worth.

If we had a forest down here in South Texas, maybe. He said it was 360 degrees all around green.

Oh My! those people are dangerous. Special Patrol? with Automatic weapons, Cages and Mobile computers? THANK GOD there are REAL Police in this world!!!

Security have used all Green, Amber/Green for a few years now. And I had always heard Green was reserved for Fire Command in Texas also. so if Green is reserved for Fire Command and this vehicle had exempt plates he must have been some sort of Fire Commander.

I think I know what the green lights are for.

I seen them on a RED Pickup fire truck and it had red strobes one the top front of the cab, and behind the bar was a round becon/strobe light that was green.

The fire pickup truck I seen was near the refinarys. On the tailgate it said "FIRE HAZ-MAT" or "FIRE HAZARDOUS" I forgot wich one, but it said one of them. I think it might be for the refinary fire station.

I know it seems like yesterday but I said I would post up once I find out what the green light means.

As others have stated the green light on the Battalion Chiefs vehs is to let whoever know they are In Command.

Something I have noticed lately, construction vehicles and triple 9 have been using red, blue, amber and you name it. I don't blame them either US 75 can be a DANGEROUS place I would want as many colors as possible!
