Didn't this happen back in May? Or did they delay going encrypted? also is Greenville Fire still using VIPER or the Greenville system?

Yes they did go encrypted in May at some point. I monitor everything in this area and a constant basis. Greenville fire is on the Pitt P25 P2 700 mhz system but I'm also hearing them on the viper system too at this time.

Is Greenville Fire simulcasting on both or using them separately. How about the stations in Pitt County? Thanks

Greenville fire is simulcasting on viper and 700 mhz System. I believe they're eventually going to be 100% on the 700 system. The county can be heard on VHF I guess for the pagers, also simulcast on viper, and the 700 system. I was told that they're all going to go to the 700 system eventually except for the VHF for paging. I also was told but do not know if it's true that one of the impetus for encyption was Greenville PD was put on broadcastify a while back. They were on there for a while and then they were removed so there could be something to this I don't know?
