So, on the DPS talkgroups, there are occasionally cars with letters in front of their names. On this forum, we've talked about:
C cars: (like C360) Conservation officers (there are more details, some group of numbers is game wardens, some group of numbers is park rangers, etc.)
T cars: (obsolete) These used to be the DOT enforcement officers before they became part of the Iowa State Patrol
I cars: Iowa DCI (including gaming officers at the casinos)
G cars: Federal probation officers
F cars: (obsolete?) Occasionally, FBI officers could be heard using "F" designations. Seems like it may have been a while since we've heard an F car. Can anyone confirm?
But today I heard a new one. A trooper was calling for "H501". However, H501 didn't respond, so I don't know any UID for the "H" car, nor do I have any context, since H501 didn't reply.
Anybody know what "H" cars are?
