Hello, n00b from canada here.

The high frequency active auroral research project or HAARP is as some of you might know a facility in alaska that uses hf transmissions to measure certain aspects of the ionospear. For more info go to http://www.haarp.alaska.edu

Anyways on oct 6 while searching 5.000-6.000 khz i came across one of haarp's transmissions on 5.800 khz at around 0530 utc, i identified it as such due to the recordings i heard on the Art Bell program a few weeks ago. So has any one else on here come across a harrp transmission ? if so then what time and frequency was it ? and if any one has questions or comments about haarp then by all means ask them here unless the mods have any objections.

funny you should mention HAARP...

for the past several weeks, at night, i hear strange harmonics on 8.992 the USAF HF Global freq.

i'm not saying it IS the HAARP project, but it sure sounds like some of the stuff i've heard played back on Coast to Coast...

(sounds something like WAHWAHWAHWAHWAH, then WAH WAH WAH WAH, and so on, decreasing in speed until an almost solid-tone is generated...)

Could very well be harmonics due to the fact that haarp will not use frequencies without first checking out who operates them first, and the USAF global frequency doesn't seem like one they (haarp) would use.

Then again they do have the capability to go from 3-10 mhz so who knows, but thanks for checking in with your info.

Also for anyone tuning 5.800 at night, keep in mind that the transmissions are not constant, and(if my memory serves me correctly) they(harrp) do thier thing in three week long segments.

<edit> i'll try and get an actual recording of the stuff on 5.800 so you guys can compare the sounds to the ones heard on coast to coast.</edit>

I remember from Art Bell a long time ago, that there was a recording from the HAARP array. It was in morse code. I'll post it if anyone is interested in decoding it.

Wow, its been awile since i last posted here, but i have the recording i made of the "haarp" signal on 5.800 back in october, if my memory serves me well this was heard around 0200 utc, i used lsb zero beat with the carrier to cut back on some of the noise. The reciever is a Kenwood r-2000.

In order to hear this file you must copy and paste it into your browsers url box.
