Halifax fire narrow-banding

Halifax county fire will be narrow-banding this Thursday Oct 4th

same thing lol but yes thats what i ment to type and i want to say ems just switched this mornng i heard them tell ems to switch over to Brinkleyville then they just told them to switch back over

their getting ready to narrow-band Brinkleyville as we speak so i guess they are going ahead and getting all they can narrow banded today

no they are just switching over from 25khz to 12.5khz they started working ol Weldon fire dept radios something like 2 weeks ago cause they had to change almost every radio over but thank goodness all but like 1 radio will work

Good I will be down that way in a couple of weeks.

I know that the narrow-banding is a must and will be good when everybody gets on board.

I just hate to see all the high dollar Motorola Portables that will become paperweights, unless you can tune them down into the ham bands.

i would love to see them hitting the viper wagon but no they are going to spend all that money to get everything narrow banded but i guess thats good and whatcha going to be this way for tb?

Here in Currituck county is going non trucked 800 digital but we will have viper for mutual aid. They should do something like that.

Speaking from the user standpoint VIPER is not really noticeable. Just a different radio and
wait for the beep before you talk. Otherwise, just like the VHF we used to use.
