Homeowners in Marion Co. (Indy) got it much worse though. A lot of older mansions were re-assessed and people who were used to paying low tax bills got hit with huge increases. Needless to say they were not happy. Property taxes did not go up quite as much here. The higher property taxes are offset by lower housing costs compared to other areas of the country.

The increased traffic with all the new construction is more of a problem IMHO.

Landlords pass on the property taxes to renters so your still paying the property taxes either way.
