0509001 13:50:35 20-08-09 ANCASTER TX TESTING

0509004 13:50:56 20-08-09 HENDERSON TX TESTING

0509003 13:51:05 20-08-09 CARLISLE TX TESTING

0509002 13:51:24 20-08-09 BINBROOK TX TESTING

0509001 13:51:28 20-08-09 ANCASTER TX TESTING

0509000 13:51:32 20-08-09 CITY-WIDE SIMULCAST TESTING

If thats wrong to post sorry in advance...

I saw this also but only the Carlise and Binbrook sites were legible. I wonder if it has to do with being outside the intended simulcast area messing with the data.

Well, if anyone has watched the news today there was a "little" fire in Hamilton last night (into today, and still on fire in spots) they used the pagers- I heard it go off at 3 something in the am, and read it this evening.

So, the pagers are in use, and operating.

Does anyone have any capcode details? Are they using just one capcode per station, or does each have the own, etc...

Aaaaargh...and you don't even link to the local TV station's site...

Honestly, I'm not bustin' your balls.

I don't reside or live in Hamilton, I just end up visiting somoene quite often and sleeping @ her residence. (for many days on end at times) ;)

Oh and here ya go, CHCH news- but it did not even make the main webpage? CHCH NEWS | Hamilton

Well, after next Monday similar incidents will make the webpage...when we have control of things once again.

Our pictures of that fire were just phenomenal. Generally speaking the chopper optics are garbage and the lack of chroma makes everything look dull and lifeless but the shots of the smoke blanketing Ancaster were otherworldly...post-apocalyptic.

Anyway, I digress.

Has anybody taken another stab at this after a few months of break in time?

I'm currently in Hamilton right now, but I have no clue how to monitor this stuff... (well, other than with my issued pager) :p

I do have my Pro 106 with me... If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

I read through the tread, what exactly is everyone looking for. I live in Hamilton and my father is on the dept. (full time, in the city) so I might be able to help.

Let me know,
Josh

Hi Josh, what they are trying to do is get a complete list of paging tones for different area fire services, have a look at what exists now in the WIKI

I will take another stab at it in the spring with a new outdoor antenna and line since a dead raccoon decided to chew up my antenna line outside. I want to get up a new J-Pole out side with a new line....

I switched to Hamilton the other day for a few hours, and nothing. I'm right on the fringe, so maybe signal was weak, but I got nothing. Usually on a weak signal I will at least get some garbage pages.

After Terry hassled me on Friday and ruined my day I gave it a shot but I was unable to get PDW to decode anything even on the EMS pager frequency. Pretty sure my soldering job crapped out but I haven't had time to repair it.

I am getting some pretty decent results here in Kitchener with a little but of garage here and there.

Still tweaking a little.

OMG Graeme!
This is probably your first post in a year!

It's been a crazy busy year, what with trying to figure out what I was gonna do if I lost my job (I didn't) and about a million other things. Lots more work on the side, now, and that keeps me from some of my hobbies unfortunately.

Anyway, Terry called me outta the edit suite and I couldn't get any decoding happening so I pulled the plug on PDW for the time being and left it at that.

I had a feeling this may happen- Hamilton FD's new pager system will be going offline soon, and replaced with a new (narrowband) paging system. Haven't even had these VHF pagers for a year yet. (good for me, I already scratched the heck outta this pager- lol)

Now, I would hazard a guess the upgrade would be 800 mhz, and probably a moto paging system/hardware- for dispatcher ease with the new system going up..? *maybe it will even be that "fabled" new moto pager I heard about in passing...* (not from the FD, from radio nerds)
