This is why I don't post on here hardly anymore, because of the stupidity of some of you guys.

What burns my bubble more than anything is to see another Ham Radio operator making fun of another Ham Radio operator.

If you know anything about Ham Radio, you would know upon seeing that picture that the operator participates in what is referred to as "Roving". Roving is using antenna's, usually some sort of beam antenna outside the vehicle. They drive from Grid to Grid depending on what they are shooting for. They also could just stay mobile in one particular Grid.

Rather than making fun of it, why not just ask what it is?? OK, I'm back to just monitoring the information that rolls in here. Some of you guys really really disappoint me.

I was about to ask that very question. On my way home, i see a guy getting onto Rte 80 (NJ) from Patterson in an Explorer with antennae similar to the ones on the truck. It has official plates, and assumed he was doing analysis.

But the second picture is hilarious. Its a base/mobile antenna, i assume.

I've seen rovers... Thats no rover, thats a chickenbander on ch 6... Guaranteed... Look at the vertical portions of it, those large CB coils and antennas are all over eBay and a few websites that make that junk. I don't see any reason for any HAM to use it. Well maybe 10M, but they are total crap.

Can't see how the yagi inbetween helps any, way too small for 27Mhz... Might be closer to VHF in size. Maybe its a dualband CB.... LMAO

He's got one of the Cobras with the weather channels included.

AMEN!

I tend to be one who makes fun of the idiots who carry
their cell phone 24/7 as if it's part of their anatomy, and
those that have those stupid looking bluetooth headsets
screwed into their ear.
Future brain cancer patients, perhaps.

BTW, I'm not talking about emergency services folk
or on-call business people and the like.
I mean those with incurable wireless verbal diarrhea.

You are ALL WRONG!

That's a death ray or mobile tesla coil.... I bet if you run enough power through that thing, he probably could fry something or someone :)

Honestly though, I've seen far worse. It may be tacky, but it isn't the ugliest thing I've seen.
