I don't think they use PL tones. I have listened to this channel (Hardin FD has used this for several years) for some time with the PL search feature enabled. No PL tones were identified.

Ahh,

Sure wish they would due to the fact that since I'm right in the middle pretty much I hear Clark County Indiana and Edmonson County both strong and I really have no desire to monitor those two stations.

How about this?

Get a cheap yard sale scanner and put 154.430 in it. Stick an 18" piece of wire in the antenna jack. Lockout 154.430 on your other scanner. No more 154.430 from too far away.

Guess what,

I still hear Clark County and Edmonson County on BC60 with a Rubber Duck antenna

Can you believe that crap.

I believe it, particularly if the squelch isn't turned up. Shield the antenna with aluminum foil until they go away.

Hardin county

I'm on Hardin county fire none of or radios are programmed with a PL tone for 154.430 but the database has one listed as 85.4 . Our pagers and radio pick up other counties in Indiana that use the same freq. I'm going to program my TK 5210 with the PL tone in it and see if it is correct and if it solves to bleed over issue. If not ill let you know.

I'm 99% sure that Hardin County Fire does not use a PL on the 154.430 frequency - definitely not 85.4 (I tried it).

Southern Indiana, specifically Clark County, uses 110.9 on the 154.430.

I am trying to confirm some frequencies for Hardin County fire and perhaps you can let me know if what I have is correct:

Hardin County Departments (as in Upton, Sonora, Glendale, Central, Valley Creek, White Mills, etc) use 151.070 with a PL of 127.3. I think they are on a repeater as I hear them fairly well in Louisville.

E-town Fire is 158.725 with a PL of 103.5. They may be simplex as I receive them sporadically in Louisville.

Vine Grove and Radcliff use 151.2425 with a PL of 127.3. I can't tell whether they are simplex or repeated, however.

There are other frequencies shown for Hardin County, which I do not hear in Louisville (with a good outside antenna): 155.97, 154.085, 154.28 and 153.800. These may be either repeater input frequencies or perhaps low power simplex fireground frequencies.

Any additional info you can provide would be much appreciated. Once I nail this down, I was planning on sending it on to Unit Charlie for database update purposes.

Thanks!

Hardin county

Hardin county has several frequencies used some are repeater and some are not here's a list
Hardin county fire talk channel 151.0700 PL 127.3 (repeater)
Hardin county fire dispatch 154.4300 No PL. (repeater)
Mutual Aid channel 156.2100 PL 85.4 (Repeater)
Etown Fire Talk channel 158.7525 PL 103.5 (repeater)
Radcliff Vine grove fire channel 151.2425 Pl 136.5 (repeater)
Hardin co EMS 159.1800 PL110.9 (repeater)
Hardin Co SO 155.9400 PL 146.2 (repeater)
Central Hardin Fire Tact channel 154.2800 ( is old county fire non repeater channel now licensed to CHFD)

The Mutual Aid channel is a Back up Repeater channel that can be used by any Fire, EMS, or Law if there channel is down. It is monitored by Hardin co 911 24/7

All fire depts in hardin county just switch to talkaround except for command while they are on scene. Also many of the County fire depts have there own private channel used for training and long scene times.

The Radcliff/Vine Grove channel is used by both city depts but radcliff is also dispatched on this channel however vine Grove is still dispatched on county fire tone out but talks to dispatch on this channel.

Etown fire is dispatched on County fire tone out but talks to dispatch on there own freq.

Radcliff and elizabethtown police depts both operate on separate VHF P25 frequencies. Vine grove police utilize Radcliffs Police channel. West Point Police operate on the sheriffs office channel West Point police unit numbers start with 1 and SO units numbers start with 9

Frequency 154.085 is the TX for the County Fire Repeater
Not sure About the other Freq my fire dept radio has all of the channels in in and don't see those freq anywhere

Also CHFD fire has a private channel as well as the 154.280 and use both on conventional VHF and standard P25 with NAC293

If you would like a entire list of all Hardin County with RX TX and PL tones I can provide you one for database purposes.

This is excellent information and thanks for providing it!

I've sent an e-mail to Unit Charlie, the DB administrator, asking that he look at your post and update the database. You might PM him with that entire list.

Thanks again!

Thanks! I'm going to update my scanning programming and hopefully Unit Charlie will get to the RR DB when time permits. He's usually pretty quick about doing that.

I too have noticed the database on RR is pretty outdated for this county. I picked up a new Uniden at Dayton. I have been running logs all week based on what is in the FCC database.

I did stumble across 154.9500 as Channel 3 for ETown PD. It is in P25. Not sure if a repeater is inline or used as car to car simplex

There is definitely no tone on 154.4300

Is someone going to put in a database update?

Elizabethtown PD

The only channel that is always active for Elizabethtown Police is 155.2500 177NAC P25 this is there main dispatch and talk channel. Due to me being on the Fire side we are not allowed to monitor the other freqs without a scanner so I am unsure what they are used for. You can hear everything Etown PD does on the first channel.

Thanx all... Hardin county was really reworked a few years ago when all the co-channel interference was going on with 154.430... but have heard little since the DB was updated then... I'll try to dig into Hardin and update per these posts, but I ask that someone submit the list as well so there can be a paper trail for future DB Admins to show the changes....
Thanx for keeping all of us posted!
