Harris gets $66 million radio order from US Army

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Military contractor Harris Corp. said Friday that it received a $66.3 million order from the U.S. Army to provide multiband "manpack" radios to support the modernization of battlefield communications systems.

Politics, and products that are combat and field proven. When you make good and reliable equipment that receives rave ratings...This is going to happen. Harris, as I understand makes great, reliable communication equipment.

But the Government needs to learn that bidding competition makes bidding go lower, saving the taxpayers and the U.S Governement millions. Competition, a competitive bidding process, as well as adequate and consecutive specs helps make for a better and more efficient product ; that is well with in spending costs. Don't let one company "Bidder" make a monopoly , and "get fat" off of a contract.

Harris Radio's

Harris makes GREAT radios for the Military. Rockwell's GPS devices are also top notch.This is speaking from tested and proven experience in the sandbox.
