• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Little off topic. Any idea where I can get a programming cable for these units? It's my understanding that it's not the same as the 100 or 200.

The XG-75P/25P/15P all use the same programming cable. It's a serial cable with a TTL converter. The XG-100P and XL portables use a direct USB connection and a completely different connector type.

NLT has them. You have to pay to play in the L3HARRIS sandbox!

On a side topic I have a xg75 that just had 39 added and was a former open sky radio. However under sysgrp is says 0 and unable to select trunking groups on the radio. Keep saying invalid sys. Any suggestions?

If someone hacked that 1500 dollar P25 Phase 1 feature into your radio, that same person will have to hack the 250 dollar Phase 2 feature into your radio, as Harris won't touch a radio with a feature string that doesn't match their records, except to give you the string(s) that match their records.

Sheriff and other county departments are P25 Phase 1 trunked. Does your radio have option 39, P25 trunking in it, for starters?
It sure does. Radio was accidentally wiped by another person. Had most counties loaded into the radio. Previous tech that programmed the unit moved away.

If you get phase 2 option, feature #47, you can also listen to Clearwater PD West/East dispatch. The rest of the CPD channels are encrypted.

I've picked up an XG 75P with P25 trunking and Phase 2. Using RPM 10d I got the dreaded Err 510 radio programmed with newer software. I'm a little rusty on the firmware downgrading...anyone point me in the right direction and what firmware would I need..R02A26?
TIA

If you read and save the original encrypted feature string you can stick it back in if you need to send the radio into Harris. But why would you do that with such an old radio?

Not the Car-Car talkgroups
Im not sure that’s right. The car to car groups are encrypted. The only channels that are open are the dispatch channels…ie: west, east, beach. And maybe a Harris super patch of some sort. I’ve been listening to CPD since the 1970’s when they had GE uhf radios and 2 or 3 channels.
