Perhaps you can provide the "physical proof" that GRE Japan is still manufacturing scanners.

where did japan come in the picture???? The yahoo post states that GRE has completely closed with no support or anything but yet the phone number has been changed.

I wasn't referring to japan, i was referring to the california office.

If the WHOLE GRE company has closed, then they need to notify us because there is no solid proof that GRE has up and closed completely, including the california office.

Nobody has shown any WRITTEN proof or physical proof that GRE has closed their buildings.

Just because their out of stock isn't any 100% proof that GRE has completely closed. I would like to see actual written proof by one their CURRENT TOP people, not some under-staff.

I was not commenting on the overall status of GRE other than to point out that since they have no current manufacturing capability and the PSR-800 is unique in that it is the only P25 Phase II/TDMA capable scanner, that their scarcity will make them very expensive units until an alternative comes around.

Yes I do, and one of them is crying about GRE's IP like it was his own property. Craig is not the owner, which is who i want to see state that GRE is completely out of business. and Don, Don't get me started on that guy, He personally emailed and harassed a former member of that group and taunted him with a database number change if i read the past posts and comments correctly.

GRE wouldn't just update one scanner and then not keep us in the dark OR completely close up without making a public notice like the one they did with the manufacturing plant in Japan.

Very TRUE, and if I read's craig's post correctly, there won't be another alternative because GRE has the IP on that particular scheme. Craig was saying how GRE's IP needs to be sold. I'm sorry but you don't go crying about any company's IP in a forum like that because GRE employee or not, he could get in big trouble for that.

OK everybody. I am back in the Bay Area today. I'm staying in South San Francisco. Either within the hour or sometime tomorrow I am going to drive over to the physical address at 425 Harbor Blvd. in Belmont and see if there is anyone still there, and report my findings.

Guys the solid fact is GRE is out of the scanner business. Debate it all you want. Keep beating the dead horse, but the end result is GRE is out of the scanner business.

Why would a retailer immediately pull stock if the supplying company went Tango Uniform? (out of business). Your assertion is ridiculous, since most retailers would rather sell their stock than try to return it to an entity that might not exist financially. Radio Shack is almost certainly getting all their GRE products out the door as fast as they can.

However, the PSR-800 is a different economic beast. It is the only radio on the market that can track and decode Motorola's X2tdma and a true P25 Phase II TDMA system. That is why you are seeing PSR-800's going for $800+ on the open market. Supply and demand.

How do you know that I don't know what's going on here??? The stuff between Don and Emmett and this site here is going viral every minute that we post here and do our normal daily lives. My Yahoo inbox was filled with 250 messages from this last night.

You don't realize that people can see what happened both here in the archives and over on yahoo.

This conversation about GRE has taken a turn for the worst. IMHO, the notice about GRE should never have been posted here first to begin with. It should have been posted on and stayed on GRE America's web page.

What happened here was somebody erred in making the decisions about press releases and now it's become like this. Somebody, somewhere within the GRE america management made a blunder by releasing the PR like they did. The issue here is not about me, it's about how one press release has caused all hell to break loose with IMHO, nobody knowing for sure what's going to happen to GRE.

If you think I don't know know what's going on here and there, I invite you to go read Don's and Chris's posts on yahoo and then don's here on Radio Reference. You sure are quick to call somebody dumb when all my facts that I posted are 100% factual and real.

I do not believe for one second that Don does everything he told Emmett he does because if GRE was really closed, none of you would be able to update your GRE scanners. CONFIRMED: GRE AMERICA CLOSED

To All:

As I posted earlier today, I am in the CA Bay Area on business this week, but since I'm staying in South San Francisco (which is a few minutes away from where GRE America is) I decided to take a ride down there to see what the story really is.

First photo is of the main business "strip". As you can see, GRE America is listed as Suite C, but also 9 & 10:

Next, I went to the main “strip”. As you can see, GRE is no longer located there. If you look very closely at the door, you will see the faint outline of the “GRE” logo; however, when you walk up to the door to take a photo, it fades out due to the angle of the light. I was unable to take a dead-on photo because of that, so I was forced to take one at the angle as seen in the pic.

Lastly, you can see that a new business is coming to this location.

Stupidly, I forgot to check out Suite 9 & 10. However, I called the phone numbers listed on the sign and the person who answered said Suite C was already taken (as evidenced by the photo), but that “9 and 10 are available”.

I think this hard evidence – along with the changed phone # that has a full mailbox – is sufficient evidence to show that GRE America is dead.

How do you know this? A Google search for Remtronix in Hayward CA results in an address under the Topix site, but they don't seem to have a website. Is REMTronix operating out of someone's home?
