hi all
i see there is a working HF patch for SDR# but as its a Dog of a piece of software. i was wondering if these was a patch for HF for HDSDR which imo a FAR superior GUI than SDR#
try as i might i just hate SDR# in comparrison to HDSRD

i have applied the files ( written for SDR#) TO sdr# and it DOES tune down to HF WITHOUT any hardware mod to my rtl R820T usb dongle !
you simply copy the files into the SDR# install folder ..

alas they did not work in HDSDR.. it utterly amazes my why people write addons for SDR# rather than HDSDR ??????

it was disscussed here New Experimental R820T RTL-SDR Driver that Tunes down to 13 MHz or Lower - rtl-sdr.com
and the SDR# patch files posted by JB halfway down are working ...direct download here https://db.tt/0JuVpWBL

nice to see you can RX HF without the need for a down converter tho :)

sorry if the writers of SDR# are offended by my thoughts but, i gotta tells it likes i sees it :)

cheers Rob

People tend to write the most software for the most commonly used platform, which happens to be SDR#. Your opinion is in the minority.

ok then.. lets look at HDSDR VS SDR#
1 the way you input freqs in sdr# is terrible..

2 the SDR' frequency manager is TERRIBLE ! what a PITA having to contrantly scroll down to get to your list, whereas HDSDR has a separate floating manager..

3 in HDSDR squelch, record , filters etc are all right there.. no faffing about ..unlike having to scroll up and down..AGAIN..

4 in HDSDR you have both a bandwidth picker AND a slider.. this slider is HUGE deal as of course different signals need differen bandwidths.. SDR# seems only to have a very clunky "punch in digit" interface..

5 THE WAY YOU INPUT FREQS IN hdsdr IS EITHER CLICK TUNE THEN TYPE or JUST start punching im the freq on your KB .. HDSDR knows its a freq.. cool huh ?...... ...ive just realised why people are writing all these "addons" for SDR#.... they are acctually fixes...lol..

6 the entire program ( HDSDR) is MUUUCH more user friendly.. very nearly like an end user finished commercial program, wheras SDR# is like linux compared to windows... clunky.. awkward.. ugly, .. in fact,, i hate it,, with a passion.. can you tell ?

to the makers of HDSDR..
there is room for improvement on HDSDR sure, a scan function, but im unsure rtl sdr can handle that.
that LO tune is pointless, get rid of it pls..

1,5 You can click on the numbers on the top bar, or use the keypad to enter numbers directly into a settings textbox on the left.

2,3,4 Not sure what you are complaining about, unless you're still running 640x480 screen resolution. You do realize you can roll up parts of the plugin/settings bar you don't use, so they take up less screen space? Makes it pretty easy to keep relevant stuff on-screen without scrolling...Also SDR# has a popup window for managing frequencies.

Your opinions seem to have an inverse relationship between their vehemence and their connection with reality.

So you expect me to believe some crank posting online vs. my hands-on experience with SDR#?

Also feel free to dislike me as much as you want. I'm pretty sure I won't lose any sleep over it.
