HDSDR S-Meter Calibraton

No test equipment here. The cost of a signal generator isn't wise for the little use I will get out of it. Signal Generators are the proper tool with proper accessories to inject a -73dbm signal to calibrate HDSDR's S-Meter for S9. What would be an alternative method to get it in the "ball park?"

Default setting using a RTL-SDR is way to generous!

Maybe another receiver with a trusted meter, otherwise a known accurate signal is needed. I picked one of these up off eBay real cheap and it works great for S-meter cal. XG3_XG3 RF Signal Source

I am waiting for my sma male to 3.5mm mono plug adaptor cable so I can use my tecsun pl-330's meter using the same antenna I use for my sdr's. I hope it's a good reference.
