I've used SDRuno from this site with no issues, I've also installed SDRconnect for when I'm doing light reception (local stuff), but today when I attempted to try out and experiment with HDSDR, my PC says, "No Way Jose". Is there a valid reason for this, or is it just Microsoft being touchy?
HDSDR and SDRuno are two completely separate pieces of software written by completely different entities. Download HDSDR from the official website. If you still get that error, maybe try clicking More Info and see what happens.
I'm going to play with it a little bit more, I've been getting clipping and a few other things that I don't like, but at this point I figure it's me and not the program.
BTW @rabbit108 it's nice to run into you again. You've not been forgotten, you were the one that originally get me into SDR's originally with the suggestion of the RTL-SDR, and with a little hand-holding on the install. I've since retired the RTL-SDR at my place and passed it on down to a worthy youngster.
I'll tell you though, I did like the old program on the RTL-SDR better for scanning for new frequencies. As the lockouts on the bottom of the band display were nice and easy to click.
