Got an email sale ad from Amateur Electronic Supply offering "HDTV" antennas on sale. This reminds me of "color" TV antennas back in the 60's and 70's. There is no such thing as a HDTV antenna; or a DTV antenna, it's all marketing hype.

I have a new 19" HD tv that sits on our kitchen table, and I use the old rabbit ears from the old set. It works perfect for hd reception.

I am surprised that AES used that ad in their email advertising. Is AES that hard up to make money that they start to use ads like this?

Once upon a time a professor at Rutgers University who teaches marketing psychology sent around a questionnaire asking in detail what people think of advertising techniques. I wrote across it in black marker BS LIES AND DECEPTION and returned it. I don't think he was pleased.
