Help installing liquidsoap on Ububtu Server

I'm going around in circles trying to get LiquidSoap to just run on Ubuntu Server. I've been using ChatGPT (laugh if you want, it's usually useful) and there's something seriously wrong with LiquidSoap. My config script is now just:

s = sine()
output.dummy(s)

or

liquidsoap -v -- 'output.dummy(sine())'

and all LiquidSoap says when I try to run with it is "No output defined, nothing to do." No other errors. I was on liquidsoap version 2.4.0+dev, but at ChatGPT's suggestion I downgraded to a previous stable version, I picked 2.3.3+dev and STILL had the issue. Any ideas?

Maybe @wgbecks will chime in with a solution. He is pretty good with Linux and liguidsoap

Just for a quick update, I ditched Ubuntun and moved to Debian. It's been easier in some ways, but I'm still struggling to get LiquidSoap to work.
