help memory card

i just got my whistler ws1080 and two transcend 32gb class 10 microsdhc cards, i've been trying to trying transfer everything from the 4gb that was included in the scanner, 4gb isn't enough i've been racking my brain on trying to set up the higher capacity memory card, someone help me!

I'm not sure that the scanner will handle a 32 gig card but if it does then I don't understand your problem. Stick the card in your computer's card reader and format the card as FAT32. Then using EZ Scan, copy the configuration and then the library to the card. That should do it.

the scanner can handle 32gb I've seen it all around the forums, I need step by step

You don't have to transfer anything .. just "prepare the microSD card for use" in the software. Then program it with the same software.

I would recommend using a card reader .. as directly to the scanner is painfully slow.

The only thing .. your 32GB card will take about 32 sec to boot up, rather than the about 4 sec for the 4 GB card. (1 sec per GB).

Help Memory card

I have the WS1080 and use a 32GB card. You can easily transfer everything ON your 4gb card by opening EZScan software, hitting Copy configuration FROM Scanner to the EZscan form. Once it's done you THEN have all things on your scanner ON that form. Unplug the USB, Take your 4gb card OUT of the Scanner, replace it with the 32GB card. Plug the USB/scanner back in and wait for the PC and form to recognize that your scanner is hooked up.... and then use " COPY configuration to scanner" from the menu above. That form will now be on your 32GB card. This is how I do it and I leave the cards in the scanner I don't use the card reader. You're simply downloading what is on your scanner, saving it to the EZscan form and then reloading it UP to the scanner with the new card. YOU should update the new card to be sure up in the "updates" tab. It does take like 25 seconds or so to ramp up when you push "ON" but the speed differences and data exchange rates are higher with a 32GB card.

I believe the scanner should be off before hooking it back up to USB, then copy configuration, since the card will have nothing on it at the start.

Yes. It has to be OFF while hooked up to the USB to be transferred, the clock time will be showing

The reason why I said something is that it looks like you are saying in post #5 to turn scanner on, then do the copy configuration to scanner.

Thanks for giving him clearer instructions. I was busy watching the news while typing, not paying attention. I like that 32GB card especially with my SSD, it's really fast on the data transfer while updating the Library each week.

I agree with the SSD part, I have one. I also use at times a USB 3.0 port and 3.0 card reader, sure makes updating the Library fast.

what brand names for 32gb should i use, i think this card isn't compatible...
i tried g.skill and transcend both are class 10 uhs-1...the 4gb still works, but i need more...

Step by Step ....

1. Prepare memory card using Whistler software from menu item
2. Make sure you have most recent programming in your Whistler software. You may need to read your 4GB card ..
3. Program scanner ..
4. Done
5 Stir
6 Enjoy

The other thing you can try .... get the software "SDFormatter ver 4.0" and format your card. You can get it from the link below.

i tried it from a memory card reader and even from the scanner itself, i think it's the brand name i used...g.skill and transcend is what i tried to use...
