Hey you can check out this site, along with the WIKI reference pages. There is also tons of info on your particular scanner in the Uniden section or online on the web.

That's the fun part of scanning, figuring it out!

Fire Department is usually talking about fires and EMS situations. Police are usually using "10-Codes" (10-4). If you look under your county in the database, it will probably give you your list of 10 codes, they are usually near the bottom of the screen. Also, if you can't figure it out from the transmission, search the database! Look under your county and see if that frequency is in the database, and see who it's used by.

P.S. You will probably get more answers if you post stuff like this in the "Scanning Forum" or "RR Tavern".

Welcome to the World of Scanning!!!! :) :) :)

Actually location specific comments/questions should be in the appropriate state forum, and the scanning forum is for general scanning comments/questions. Questions about your BC350a should be directed to the Uniden forum. Oh yeah...welcome!
