I'm very new to this Scanning with the Pro-97. I have figured out how to enter frequencies into banks and scan through them but I haven't a clue what I am doing with the motorola mode. Or scanning in the 800 mhz. The manual seems to be written as having some knowledge in this but I do not. Is there anyone that would take the time to step me through some of these options in the motorola trunking programing? I have frequencies, and some id groups, that I have gotten off of www.trunkingscanner.com and some other sites for Utah. I would really appreciate it, you don't know how much I would. I have also used this page but not sure where to put the info it has into my scanner. http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=601
Thank you very much.

I'm from up in Summit County so I usually look for those Frequencies. Too fast paced for me in SLC. :) Plus I never know when I am going to be down there.

Only Online

They are always out of stock online for some odd reason but you can find it in most stores. Check the in-store link next to the one that says out-of-stock online!

Ok I have my data cable finally but I'm not sure what goes where. I think I have some ID codes but I manually stuck them in but not sure I did it right. Could anyone give me some pointers on how to program correctly for the Motorola Mode???

Thanks...

Wow, Viper, you keep this up and you will have a following kinda like the Pied Piper!

For you two "Newbies," don't feel picked on. It seems all the owner manuals written for our toys are written by someone who thinks we have as much experience as he does at this game. When I first tried to program my BC780XLTs back in 2003 I had the very same reaction. It is frustrating...very frustrating...BUT there is light at the end of the tunnel because that is one reason we started having meetings. That way you can get first-hand guidance and have the guy helping you right there to ask questions.

The next meeting is:
When: Saturday December 1 @ 12:00 (Noon)
Where: Magna LDS Bishops' Storehouse on 7200 W and 3600 S

If you can come, please do. It is much nicer to know who is doing the posting. Read the November Meeting thread for more information including a cell-phone number you can call if you come late so you can be let in.

Also, I encourage both of you guys to finish your RR profile by filling in your location, etc.

Oh, and WELCOME TO THE UTAH FORUM OF RR

NOTE: Viper, I clicked on the link to Radio Shack in your post above and the page that I got said, "No Matches."

I will be at the meeting. I think I still have my old Win97 files and can bring them on disk. I found out that my cable will not work on my laptop. It is the older serial type and not USB. I do not have Win97 any longer since my 97 died. I do have the files still though. If you cannot make the meeting let me know via PM and we can work something out.

I have Win97 and a cable that works with my Laptop. I can/will bring them with me and maybe we can get some of those 97's out there set up. I just redid my brother-in-laws radio and made some changes in mine, so the info is current.
