Help with BC296D

Hello,
I recently bought (and then returned) a BC 246T, as it wasn't digital. Now I have a BC296D and can't seem to get it to successfully connect to my computer.

Here are my basic questions:

How is remote mode accessed on the BC296D?
How do I add a TalkGroup ID, or even listen into one?

I liked the ease of use of the BC246T, but when it comes to the BC296D, its a lot different.

I tried reading the manual, but you know manuals, they are hard to understand.

I have the same scanner and found the software that came with it limited and confusing. So I got the Arc250-Basic from Butel. Well worth the money. It has an auto-detect for getting your scanner connected. It also has the virtual scanner control.

the reason you can't connect is you have to make sure pc is enabled in the radio
