I have homepatrol 2 and has worked great for yours. Now for the past month or longer I don’t receive any transmissions on it. I’m located in Hamilton County Iowa 50595 would appreciate any assistance. I’m not very experienced in this area so please bear with me

When you were receiving your local agencies previously, were you hearing them on the conventional channels listed under the county header, as well as the Webster City channels shown? And the ones (shown below) are what is programmed in your Favorites list for your HP-2?

Looking at your county (Hamilton) in the database, as well as your city (Webster City), it appears that they could be using the statewide system, ISICS.
Reviewing the change history for your county, as well as for the statewide system, I see quite a few indicators that talkgroups, on the state's system, for your city & county, have been added, or edited in the past month. Do you have both the conventional frequencies programmed, as well as the statewide system, with the TGIDs for your city & county, programmed in a Favorites list? If so, on which set of channels, either the conventional ones or state system talkgroups, were you hearing your area before you lost contact with them? If you were receiving them on their original conventional channels, and have lost them over the past month, possibly your county & city have shifted their activity to the trunked system. You might want to have your thread e moved to your state forum, where somebody in your area might see your post & give you more information. Not being anywhere near you, all I have to go on is what is shown in the database.

For the stare's system, the site located in your county (Hamilton) is tagged as being Simulcast Simulcast sites can be a problem to receive clearly on may scanner other than Uniden's SDS100 & SDS200. See my post, in a different thread involving an HP-2 for some suggestions to try & hear the site even if simulcast. Certainly, no guarantee if any of the suggestions there, or in the Wiki page linked above, will work completely, if at all.

For the Hamilton County site, the site map does not indicate the location of the individual sub-sites (transmit towers) that are part of the simulcast. If you are familiar with some of the radio towers in use in your county, and you can drive to within a quarter mile or so, taking your HP-2 with you, the strong signal (if parked near the correct site) will overload the conflicting, out of phase signals, from other sub-sites used by the simulcast. If that works, then you've confirmed that your problem involves simulcast distortion.

Please attach your favorites list file so we can take a look at it. Go to the File tab in HomePatrol Sentinel and click on Export to hpe file. You will need to zip the exported file to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and open the zipped file. If you are scanning from the database, you need to update the database in the scanner.
