Does "C.C. Only" apply to Win97/Pro-97 too?

Does the control channel only programming also apply to win97 and the Pro97?
I'm having trouble trunktracking the Snohomish, WA trunked system. I've got all 9 freq's programmed - do I need to delete all but the control channel and alternate?

Currently, the scanner doesn't recieve in scan , but if I hit manual, I can get vioce traffic and sometimes ID text. I'm hoping I can get the whole system downloaded from RadRef, but my donation hasn't got through by snailmail yet. In the mean time, any comments or ideas would be appreciated...

This Snohomish system?

Do you have the mode on both channels set as MOT AND the bank set as MOT? (They both have to be set that way.)
Then either scan in open mode and hear all the talkgroups, or program in the talkgroups you want to hear and scan in closed mode.

Why not become a donating member of the site and download just the frequencies and TGs you want through the import feature in WIN96? When I bought my 96 last week, the RS associate also asked if I wanted the radio programmed. I politely declined, knowing that the files that RS downloads into the radios are mostly garbage, and that I could do much better with the info from this website, which is also more up-to-date, BTW.

Don't blame RS for those "garbage" freqs. Blame the folks at National Communications. They're the ones who build the ScanCat county freq files that RS uses.

RR should try to get that contract! :)

I have the Pro 97 and you have to put it into SAME Standby to receive weather alerts. I am thinking of trading up but the 96 dosen't do LTR Trunking, which is kinda used in my area. Several agencies use LTR but its not trunked, I do have the coses loaded so it tells me who is on the system. Louisville is upgrading but won't be online for a couple years. Now to my question, on the PRO-96, do you have to have it in SAME Standby to receive wether alerts, so that I can listen to other things and still get alerts?

If it's LTR, it IS trunked - even if it only uses one frequency. It's a rare case, but it does exist. The 'T' in LTR stands for Trunked. The trunk simply goes 'all busy' when anyone uses the system.
