New here, just got my 296d this morning. Grabbed a copy of Butel for it, have successfully set up all the simplex and duplex channels I want to monitor in Bank 1.

I want to add State of Colorado DTRS which is a trunked system. How do I know which one of the frequencies listed is the control freq?

I've grabbed the csv off the site here and it supplies me a number of freqs for the trunked statewide system e.g.:

765.96875 0 WPTZ761 State of Colorado DTRS Site:354 Gun Barrel n/a n/a Project 25 n/a

You will want the red and blue, however, only one other freq exist for the site so you may want to program all 5 frequencies and set it up in ARC250 with Control Channel Plan to OFF.

Edit: I just noticed your first post. Welcome to the forum.

Also, as a premium subscriber to this forum you can use ARC250D Beta V1.95 to import the site directly into the software.

So just take the 5 other freqs program them the same way as simplex channels? Then set them to program 25? Is it really that simple?

No. First open the Trunk menu, select System Settings then match the Trunk Type with DTRS type. The other settings in the dialog are your preferred choice and the last is CC only but should be set to default Off.

Close the settings dialog and file the freqs in similar to this picture. The rest of the columns will fill in according to your settings in the above paragraph.
