Help with Uniden BCD325P2 for Western NC

For those not totally familiar, both the City of Asheville and Buncombe County operate their own individual P25 trunked radio systems. These local systems are NOT part of the statewide VIPER system. Both Asheville and the County each have a small number of talkgroups on the VIPER system, but these are used primarily for backup or other unusual circumstances. Day-to-day activity is found on their individual P25 systems.

Gents... I didn't suggest that ALL of Buncombe County was encrypted, I was talking about the Buncombe County trunked SYSTEM. Except for the jail site, the Sheriff and the "other' (NOT Asheville) Fire Departments are the major users, and nearly all of the Sheriff's meaningful talkgroups are "DE".

Other than the Asheville PD, Buncombe Sheriff and EMS to Hospital it appears all other traffic on the Buncombe, Asheville, and VIPER systems, are in the clear.
