ISP does not use 42.420Mhz anymore. They are keeping 155.370 Point to Point and 155.475 for ILEEN.for Dispatchers to listen to statewide. Most of the Low band has been taken out of the ISP cars statewide and has been replaced with safe-t.Most of the old low band equipment has been stockpiled at Indianapolis where the cars are put together before they go out on the road. You might want to watch the local hamfest. These will make excellent 6-meter ham radios.

Not without much time and expense... the band split drops off above 50MHz
Lot's of capacitor changes, many are harder to find these days, hence time.

Yes this is very true but you might be able to find one at a Hamfest that has had this done and is set up on 6 meters.ISP had Motorola and GE scanning heads in the cars.A long time family friend who was with ISP Dist 52 Indianapolis Post had a GE with a scanning head and the transmittter was mounted in the back trunk. He also had a Motorola that was also a scanning head when ISP was on low band 42Mhz with the long antenna on the back of the car
