TRX-1: Help!

I'm trying to get a friend's TRX-1 working again. On powering up the display shows a 5-00 error code. Any ideas? I have tried SD cards from various manufacturers and of different storage capacities. Nothing seems to change. TIA for any suggestions.

Before trying to program again, did you go to the Scanner/SD Card tab in EZ Scan and click on Prepare Scanner Memory/SD Card for use?

That's what I have repeatedly attempted. Now it's telling me there's a problem with the TRX communicating with my computer.

What do you see on the scanner display? Does is say something like uP App Ver: None?

I would try downloading the SD Card Formatter from the SD Association. Format the card using that. You will still need to prepare the SD card for use using EZ Scan after the format.
