Hernando Co. Quiet!

I hear nothing from Hernando Fl. Co. during the day only late at night. Scanning with Pro 106 and HP 1. What is up with this?

just turned on my 780xlt am recieving hernando cty full metal jacket. county sheriff fire rescue all of it check your settings on your scanner. good luck

Just put all freqs listed in scanner and it is working! Did not work with the 4 control channels listed in red. Thanks. Scanning from Citrus Co.

They probably switched to a control channel that you A) don't have programmed in your scanner, or B) have programmed, but locked out.

No wonder I haven't heard Hernando. It actually comes in better than Pasco, at least this morning, from mid-Pinellas.

same thing again this morning for hernando , but with 859.4875 as the control channel. I'm sure the other frequencies are used when they are busy, but I just haven't tuned in when they are busy. Unitrunker showed 858.4875 as cc, and 854.9875 as an alternate cc.

citrus had a cc of 859.0875 this morning.

Hello guys and gals, I wonder if any of my neighbors in the counties north of me ( Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, Sumpter ), can help me out with the correct freq's used in the Hernando Motorola Type II Smart net systems site? I've got a great outdoor antenna with which I can get on a good night Charlotte, Desoto, Sarasota, and the Sumpter VHF system to the north. The RR database's listing does not seem to work, and I have been part of this threads dialogue where discrepancies in accuracy have been observed. So for once and for all can someone put up the correct info, so that the RR database can be updated? And if I'm wrong about the validity of the existing freq's I apologize in advance, but I bet I'm not. Thanks in advance.....John. By the way, I'm in Hillsborough.

passed through recently, too, worked fine using all wnfw960 frequencies. 860.4875 doesn't appear in the fcc database. previously had trouble using the listed rr cc's, but adding the other frequencies solved the problem.

you may be out of range for herando county. for example, this afternoon from the weedon island observation tower using a cheap 13 db drectional 800-900 yagi and 396xt connected directly to the pigtail with a male n/bnc male connector, i could not pick up hernando mot ii or polk p25 probably due to today's cloud cover and other factors, but could pick up pasco edacs, lakeland mot ii, manatee west and east edacs, and sarasota site 1 mot ii, and of course other nearby systems. if you can't pick up pasco from hillsborough, you probably won't pick up hernando either.

you may try a a custom search 850-860 in "cc only mode" with the 396xt and if the frequencies aren't locked out the xt will show "mot sysem" and then "hernando" when and if it picks it up. may also try a limit search with the gre500/pro106 to see if it stops on one of the wnfw960 frequencies and identifies the hernando system.

Thanks for the reply, those are great suggestions I really appreciate it. I should have mentioned I get Pasco's system with no problem using the RS 800 duckie and about 3 by 3 using the Psr 800's stock duck.on the PSR. These are the frequencies I found on the FCC site for Hernando's trunked system for anyone else who is interested too;

Yes. Currently in a three story building in Clearwater and Hernando is A-OK.
