Does anyone know if HC rebroadcast's some of their tg's onto other tg's ?. I've been experimenting with my scanner in id search. I've been unable to id some of the tg's against the list.

I don't live in that area. If you can see Unit ID show up write some of that down and if a unknown TG shows up try to match the UID to that.

Although there is very little information on the web about Hernando communication's, I believe I read that they just changed the system out in 2010. Some people are still listening in conventional mode, instead of trunking. Any help, wold be appreciated.

Other than what's on RR, yes, they are the last type 2 800 analog system.

Hernando is my home town - I know a couple people who work for HCSO... speaking to one deputy, their system is already running Encryption for the most part. I haven't listened to their system in a few months while I was up there, however reception was always horrible in the core Spring Hill area.

Your deputy might be right, but I wouldn't put too much stock into it. Most deputies aren't very knowledgeable about their radio systems. I've heard deputies refer to ProVoice as encryption. Some think that a trunked system automatically means it's encrypted.

They seem to be in the clear to me. I do agree that I pickup the data control channel poorly, depending on which room I'm in. Outside, it's clear. Don't spend much time outside, it's like a blast oven ! LOL.

That's what I thought. I've been out of work for a few months due to back surgery, so I hadn't been up that way in a while. Figured they were still rice krispies in the clear.

Hernando's System is one of the oldest in the area. However, they have cash problems and are not likely to go to a P25 system anytime soon. It still works pretty well though. Once they find the cash, it's likely they will be encrypted as that's been the trend statewide. My guess is you have a few more years of in the clear monitoring.

I just saw Hernando SO on Live PD Wanted and they had Harris mics and radios. I’m not sure they are running Motorola type ll analog anymore. Maybe they are on the SLRS Florida State system? I don’t know. I know they used to have Motorola MTS 2000’s back in the day. Let me know what you think...I’m down in the Pinellas area.

Tampa PD, specifically Street Crimes unit must think provoice is encryption based on their language and discussions nightly lol

Negative on Harris radios in Hernando. Harris does not do smartnet analog.
Motorola and EFJ / Kenwoods and there is an rfp out to upgrade the TRS to P25p2

I run a route from Lakeland to Melbourne 4 days a week and Osceola & Orange counties law channels are ENC that makes the scanner very quiet with only fire comms

Any indication if fire-rescue will be encrypted?
