Can anyone point me to a throrough list of acronyms and abbreviations and their definitions as transmitted by ground stations? I simply cannot find the meanings of quite a few of them. Eor example, under MFPDU I'm always seeing "TXW=0", but what is TXW? That seems to be the most difficult one, but there are many others, and they're omitted from every listing I've ssen of aeronautical terms.

Transmit Weather???

Frank
Thanks, Frank. I guess that's a possibility, and seeing as how TX does stand for transmit, TXWX would make it an even greater possibility. Let's see if anyone else wants to hazard a guess. ;

Did you ever get a listing. I get tons of messages in but the only ones I seem to understand are the position reports.
All the AC traffic and ground station traffic is a bit of a mystery to me.
There has to be a user manual that explains the codes and what is being sent? No?

Sounds like you could use a local sectional showing ATC patterns and a map of the airport you monitor.
(my 2 cents)

Probably the best place to look for HFDL abbreviation definitions would be the sub-group or the Utility DXers Forum, both are on the groups.io server. The links are below. It's free to join groups.io, and I have yet to see much junk mail, and I belong to several groups
