Update

Map available as "CO-ARF-000329" from USFS (Canyon Lakes ranger Dist.)
Shelter #2 closing at The Ranch. Lincoln Jr High on Vine in Ft. Collins for "overflow".
Shelter #1 still at Cache La Poudre school near La Porte.

Also: the name of the canyou is "RIST Canyon", not RISK.

#HighParkFire, at 14,000 acres (22 sq. miles), is roughly the same size as the city of #Boulder (24 sq. miles).

Airtankers on "Hold"

All fixed wing airtankers are now on hold due to smoke conditions. Smoke is laying down on fire and
visibility is very poor.

Hey gang,

Thanks for posting this coordination document earlier in the thread:
http://gacc.nifc.gov/rmcc/dispatch_...ide 2012 small Font 1 FIXED print flip up.pdf

At the end of the document there is a whole list of frequencies used for programming responder radios. I took the six tables and put them into a spreadsheet. Since I have a Uniden HP-1, I also created a .hpe file with them programmed as well.

The spreadsheet is here (with formulas for converting to HP-1 format intact):
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17650942/scanner/nw_colorado_interagency_20120223.xls

The HP-1 .hpe file is here:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17650942/scanner/nw_colo_interagency_20120223.hpe

The spreadsheet is a little messy - just used it to get into HP-1 format.

To use the .hpe file, download it to your computer, then open up Homepatrol Sentinel (the software used to program your radio) and click "File->Import from hpe file".

Useful for general monitoring. If you're a responder and need a listen-only scanner programmed in the same way the fireground radios are programmed, this might make it easier for you.

Let me know if you see any problems/issues and I'll update as appropriate.

Dave

Estes Park was just advised by dispatch that they may loose there paging system because one of the towers was taken out by the fire. I haven't heard any chatter from the Rist canyon tac chs in a little while so I'm wondering if the towers got hit. I no longer have a digital so I can't tell if Buckhorn is still sending out signal.
KUNC is off the air on Buckhorn. They do not have backup power so I am assuming the main power is out on the mountain. Just about everyone else up there has backup generators or batteries. Just not sure of how long they can go without utility power.

Depends on how much diesel was in the generator's fuel tank yesterday ;)

Most should last at least a couple of days.

High Park Fire Tankers

I found Tankers 44 & 48 (P2Vs), 42 & 45 (Convair 540s), and SEATs (Single Engine Air Tankers) 847, 882 & 883 working out Rocky Mountain Regional Airport until about 1300 when they grounded the tankers. I did not hear a reason but thinking it might be due to winds at the scene. Freqs posted by Rex yesterday active as well as ATC freqs at RMR Airport.
