I'm typically in Alamogordo at least a couple of times per year, but I've never taken a scanner with me, for some reason.
Since my last trip there, I procured a Uniden BC125AT. Later, I prepared a CSV file to load, including the
Holloman frequencies from the New Mexico Federal page.
This process, along with the recent developments documented on this forum, have lead me to two realizations:
- There is exactly one Holloman frequency on the page, 381.300 MHz, that falls outside the range of the BC125AT. The scanner produces an error message if I try to enter it.
- It appears that I've already missed my opportunity to scan those frequencies, anyway!
In any event,
NM-DTRS has two sites near Alamogordo. I'm near the A Mountain site, and unexpected Talkgroups from places like Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Roswell, etc, pop up, at least temporarily, all the time.
(The BC125AT won't scan NM-DTRS, of course, but the
BCD325P2 can.)
