Hi, I am looking into building a antenna
That I can easily put up and down here
At my apartment complex.
I would like to use either multiple fiberglass rods or fiberglass tubes.
I believe terminating the bottom in a 3/8 24 male thread. My question would be what is the standard OD of most rods or tubes that use a 3/8 24 thread?
I found a company that sells rods and tubes. Any help on this would be highly appreciated.

Thank you, Jim.

I tried to look up threaded fiberglass tubes on McMaster-Carr. Did not find anything quickly then the thought came to mind fiberglass will not hold a thread well.

Depending on what frequencies you are building for your might be better off using a larger tube with an threaded insert perhaps epoxied into the tube. I'm sure you can find threaded inserts on McMaster-Carr.

Or anyone with a mini metal lathe cut turn one out in whatever size needed.

I have a mini lathe and will work for beer ;-)

How were you planing to attache the wire inside the tube to the base? Also what type of antenna?

Let us know what you are planing to build then better advise may come.
