most radios haven't been updated with IMED yet so they are telling us to use the Cottonwood tgid. You guys have to remember that when we make a change on the scanner, it takes 2 seconds to program in a new tgid and alpha tag it. When they want to make a change on the radios in the field, it takes weeks (yes weeks) to get every radio reprogrammed. This may not happen until the rebanding is done or they are going to just spend all day reprogramming radios for the next month. remeber for the fire service, there are at least 4 handhelds per engine, and 2 handhelds per ambulance or squad. I would guess conservatively that Salt Lake City Fire has 400 radios that would have to be reprogrammed. Not a real fun task when for the time being, you can send a email and tell the crews to use the cottonwood channel. Who knows how long it will take to get it done, but I can guarantee that the new tgid for IMED is accurate from a lifeflight radio that is programmed with it!!!
