I just reviewed the HOTRRS talk groups. Thanks to the person who corrected the talk groups by using "e." However, there is one more to go. Last night, I was listening to 1K WPD Admin talk group.
Those involved in a monitored activity last night were reminded to keep names off of the radio. I believe I heard the officer mention they might be heard on a scanner.
A while back, I heard several officers talking about the crook listening on his police scanner. To me, they were jacking with the person of interest, possibly to rattle him.
I will say this once again. At present, WPD does not really need fully-encrypted talk groups on all, like Ft. Worthless. I have a very long recording of the Twin Peaks biker target practice. Seven bikers were wasted. Zero officers were killed/hurt from gunfire.
Waco PD and McLennan SO need to be commended for their part in this ridiculous shoot-out. I would imagine some agencies used some encryption, possibly federal. However, most of the radio traffic was in the clear.
I am so thankful that this county allows clear transmissions.
So, let it be known, Channel 1K is not fully encrypted at present. If I need to, I will submit a You Tube video showing the radio in action. If so, I will edit out sensitive information that might compromise their activities.
