I have a DMR Hotspot someone (KC1MAC?) built for me about five years ago. It worked great, but I moved and the hotspot went into a desk drawer, and hasn't been used in about four years. I plugged it in a couple of days ago, and voila, it still works. Well, sort of. As you can see when I keep up my radio, it comes through to the hotspot, but the screen says <address unknown> and I do not actually transmit onto the DMR talk groups. Soooo, I'm at a loss of what to do to get it working again. Am I too dumb to have a hotspot, or can someone help me out here? Thanks!

Mike

Did you update your wifi settings to your new internet ? You can login to the hot spot and double check internet access as well as talkgroups.
Thanks for replying. No, I have not changed to the new Wifi address yet. I do not even know how to go into the hotspot and do that. I pulled the card out of the hotspot and hooked it up to my computer, but can't find anywhere in there to change those parameters. I was able to contact the gentleman who built it for me, but unfortunately he's gotten out of the business and has no information that could help me!

The file is likely to be in one of a few places
/etc/dhcpcd.conf
/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
/etc/network/interfaces

and that is 'guessing it is not using NetworkManager if it is:
probably somewhere like:
/etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/

Wpa_Supplicant sets up to connect to your wifi
the dhcpcd.conf sets up the IP address your hot spot used

Thanks for the information. I have found another gentleman who builds hotspots is helping me out. I should be up and running tomorrow!

Thank you all for writing! W1VET was able to figure out my version of Pi was too old to be of service. This man was a great help. If you're ever looking for a hotspot I surely do recommend him and his services. He's on eBay and has his own store!
