How long to charge

I just got a new BCD436HP yesterday .I thought I read somewhere to charge it the first time for 50 hours.Is this correct ?

The "fifty hours" is to charge the internal clock battery, not the batteries used to operate the scanner.

Leave the scanner turned on, powered by either the batteries, or plugged into a USB power source for a cumulative 50 hours to ensure the RTC battery gets a full charge.
