With reference to my loop as shown in reply #10, I have just made a little experiment. I had to rewire it as it had been used for something else, but here's what I measured using that old 3-gang capacitor , one section only though!
Length of each wooden leg from centre to outer turn 500mm, each outer 'side', 680mm, 11 turns 10mm spacing, 1 turn coupling loop, capacitor 500pF max, 55pf min. Frequency range AM broadcast band, 550kHz to 1620kHz.
You should be able to replicate your loop with these figures.
