Pro-651: how to choose a scan list

I just put in a bunch of frequencies in my scanner when to the scan screen and it says nothing enabled why would it say that if I downloaded frequencies??

A modern scanner is a very complex device. To properly program one so as to listen to that which you desire and nothing else, and do it without the benefit of software, can be a daunting exercise, even for a scanner "expert".

A search of the "Manual" (2nd URL above) for "download frequencies" returns no matches.

Whether you choose to "program" by software or manually, you quite likely are looking at 50 or more steps that must be done correctly, and in a specific order. For an EXPERT with your particular scanner to identify errors in your programming, they probably need for you to post the EXACT steps, and in the EXACT order, that you took to do the programming.

Personally, I wouldn't attempt to program a modern scanner without using software.

what does it mean even after I press and release 1 I go to scan screen press 1 and it still says nothing enabled

OK ! , do this, push PGM then F3 ( glob), push bottom white arrow & scroll down to scan list & push
right arrow & that will bring up ALL scan list, look at scan list #1, on the right of # 1 is there a STARR
lit up ? if not push the word SEL in the middle of the arrows to activate #1, that will inable # 1 scan list, be sure to push SAVE, then EXIT then scan.

well that sucks when I go to scan screen it shows all the numbers while it is scanning but I press # 1 it then says nothing enabled I did what you said above also

If you ONLY have 1 scan list programed & it shows ALL the # in the window, push #1 again to turn it back on, then push & release all the others to turn them off.

Do you have the manual? If not you can download the pdf version.
Read it; Then use your digits to press the appropriate buttons & digits.
As opposed to plugging into a PC and using software.
You've already gone to the trouble of being a premium member. I recommend using the software to import the data. whether it's WIN500/ARC500 or one of the others that works.

Easier to Read Manual

I agree with the recommendation to use software because it makes programming much easier. But if you want to program manually, here are the links to the RR Wiki page and the online manuals.

If you didn't assign a scanlist during the download process, then the items probably went to scanlist "00", which is the list of "unassigned" objects. If you haven't already done so, you also need to activate/enable the particular scanlist after you assign items to it. So, if you assign items to scanlist "1", then you will need to press the "1" button on the keypad to enable scanlist "1".

Press "scan" to put the scanner into scan-mode.

Then you can do any of the following...

Press the "1" to enable/disable scanlist #1. Likewise for scan-lists 2 through 9.
Press the "0" to enable/disable scanlist #10.

Press "FUNC" and "1" to enable/disable scanlist #11. Likewise for scanlists 12 through 19.
Press "FUNC" and "0" to enable/disable scanlist #20.

Press "FAV" to enable/disable the "Favorites" scanlist.
Press "WX" to enable/disable the "Skywarn" scanlist.

I also agree with the recommendation to take the time to read the manual. These modern digital scanners have many features. Some are not necessarily intuitive for the beginner, but can be learned rather quickly by reading the manual, and then asking follow-up questions here. The Easier to Read Manual is a good place to start. And, there are lots of knowledgeable people here willing to help, so don't be shy about asking those follow-up questions.
