I'm glad that I didn't spend a lot of money on this, as I'm not sure that I will be able to use it with my radio.

This is an old device, which appears to have been sold under a Radio Shack name once. It is a Shortwave amplifier called a Dax Station Stalker. Here is an amazon link for a picture:

Amazon.com : Dak Station Stalker Shortwave Antenna Booster : Other Products : Everything Else

The problem is that I don't have the cable that it came with. It has a radio out jack that is the size of an earphone or speaker out jack. Is there some way to get this connected to my AOR 8200 MK111? What kind of cable and connectors would I need?

Looks very much like a standard 2 conductor 1/8" earphone type jack.

If you are up to soldering, you could take a coax cable and put a BNC male on one end and a 1/8" 2 conductor jack on the other end.

If not, you can find adapters/cables that will go from 1/8" plug to an RCA, probably at any radio shack, and get an RCA to BNC adapter.

Ty for the quick reply. Home depot is on my way home and I'll try there first. Here is a quick follow-up:

Do I use this as the only antenna, connecting it directly to the BNC port of the radio? I am assuming this is the only method, or do I connect this to the radio, then connect the normal telescoping antenna after? I'm guessing the former.

This would replace the stock antenna.

Not sure Home Depot will have everything you need.
An electronics store will have some of it. You can use an audio grade cable for the 1/8" to RCA. The RCA to BNC will need to come from somewhere like radio shack.

Before I make the trips, If I can find any audio grade cable laying around, (the kind that goes into headphones) can I just cut off one end of good 75 OHM Coax and cut and splice one end of the audio jack into the coax - then plug in the 1/8th end into the amplifier and the coax BNC into the BNC port of the radio?

That would work.

The headphone jack will likely have a 3 conductor jack. The cable will have 2 conductors with a thin copper braid shield. You'll need to figure out which of the 2 wires connects to the TIP of the 1/8" jack, this is the one you want to use. The copper braid and the other conductor can be twisted together and used, or just use the outer shield.
