My laptop recently crashed, I had it wiped and returned to me. The wipe removed the sentinel program. I have tried repeatedly to reinstall it without any success. I have gone to the Uniden site and clicked on the download of Sentinel software. When I unzip the file and click on set up I get a message that says in part "requires .Net Framework version 2.0." It asks if I want to go to another site. When I click yes it takes me to the .Net Framework site. I then download that and it states that it won't download. The cycle has been repeated for me numerous times. Can anyone advise what I am doing wrong?

Make sure you install net Framework 2.x, each Microsoft framework library is seperate and not cumulative. Net framework 1, 2, 3 ect... its best to just install all of them.

Run the dotnetfx.exe file located inside the DotNetFX folder to install the .Net Framework 2.0

Insure you are using the correct Sentinel. HomePatrol scanners uses a different Sentinel then the BCDx36HP and SDSx00 scanners.
Run the dotnetfx.exe file after you extracted the files from the zip file.
If the dotnetfx.exe method fails for some reason, try this method that Uniden advises

Another reason to always back up important files\downloads to a separate location such as a flash drive, then keep it in a secure place.
Ya can't dodge Murphy's Law, (especially when it involves RSS
)
This isn't a "I told you so!", just advice from an old guy that had to learn the hard way more than once.
