How to extend the range of a wifi camera

I need to extend the range of my wifi camera. Right now I can get it to work spotty at 500ft. Is there an SMA 2.4/5ghz antenna option so I can get the antenna up higher or to the side of the tree/building which would be closer to the router? Also whats the max distance due to loss that can be achieved?


I considered a repeater, but people say streaming with a repeater is horrible. My other option would be an outdoor AP on a Poe.
