Hi all.
New HP/Uniden user, but not new to scanning.
I’m visually impaired/blind, so please try to be as specific as possible (exact buttons to press etc.).
Yes, I do have the DMR upgrade.
Got this radio last week.
I’m a big fan of it so far, and have actually figured out a lot of stuff on my own.
One thing I’m trying to grasp though, finding DMR info.
Is there a way, either on the radio itself, or via the Sentinel software to find the info I need to actually set up a DMR system?
I did a custom search between 163-175, since that’s where the DMR activity is in my area.
I landed on a 165.15 freque that showed a color code of 4 and it showed “CAP”, but that’s about all I got.
When I went back to the software, entered that freque, selected 4 for the color and get spotty comms, but not entire convos, just a transmission every few mins. I do get quite a few transmissions where the scanner lands on said channel, but will just hold for a bit, with blank/white noise, no comms.
There is a DMR system listed in my area on RR, but for some reason it isn’t available in the Sentinel database to be uploaded to the radio. I’m not sure if that is related to what I found, but that one has a different freque.
I did manually enter that freque, and got some of the same comms as the 165.15 one.
The 2 frequencies are listed in the TAFL (Canadian FCC) at different locations within the city, so possibly multi site?
Either way, would like to figure out how to start hearing things and finding talkgroups and such.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

To blow up the Link all you have to do is "CTRL" and hit "Plus symbol" and this will magnify the screen, if you are using Windows Computer.
What area of Ottawa do you get these transmissions. I am new Hogs Back Falls and I am using the SDS-100. I will try again through out the day to listen. My research tells me the Municipality of Low QC. UsingTAFL.

Not quite sure what you mean by “explode” it for me, but thanks for the link.
That’s exactly what I needed.
Think I got it set up; not much action at this time of night, but here’s hoping tomorrow.
Thanks again for the wiki and I’ll post any more questions.
BTW, I use a screenreader on both computer and mobile, so text/html links are great, and much better than most vids and such I’ve found online.

I didn't know whether you could read the document, so what I was trying to do was to ask someone if they could describe in words what some of the pix was describing. 'Explode' was just the word I came up with, a poor choice, but it does more or less explain the intent.

Glad you found it helpful. Much of that came from another RR member, and I simply captured it because it looked like it would be useful. My instinct was correct.
