Matt, you appear to have been disconnected after setting your pc to static information. This shouldnt have happened. None the less if you are having problems getting connected you simply need to go into network connections right click the wireless connection go to properties. Once here go to the properties of tcp/ip and set both back to obatin automatically. this should get you bak online. Once this is done msg me again.

I have the free service DynDNS. Do I have to pay for the service to put the scanner online? If so what do I do after that?

Here are few things you should try:

1. In your router; ensure that port 8000 is fowarded to the computer that is running Icecast.

2. On that computer, if there is a software based firewall, make sure that port 8000 is unlocked and that Icecast is given permission to access the internet.

3. What is the name of your DynDNS? ex: bob.dyndns.com. In Icecast config, under Hostname, you need to type in your DynDNS name (that you chose).

4. Make sure DynDNS is properly configured, and that it is always made aware of your Internet IP address in the event it should change.

Once you have double checked all of these, things should go a little bit easier. The link you gave a couple of posts ago (192.168.??.??) is your INTERNAL (LAN) address. This won't work for others outside of your LAN trying to access your feed. DynDNS I don't believe will charge you for what you are asking for.

Keep us posted.

I think I got it going now

http://192.168.0.103:8000/

let me know if it works

or try /live.m3u

The URL you have has the IP address of your local machine. The IP address needs to be your internet connection's IP.

Go under Start -> Run and type CMD. When you get the window, type IPCONFIG /ALL
Your IP connection will be among that info and it will NOT begin with 192! If you have an online DNS service, which is what I assume DynDNS is, that should be resolving your IP for you. Query it, look for the IP address that it's assigning you and plug that into your URL. Trouble is, if you're on dialup or using any other ISP that frequently changes your IP, then your URL will be needing updating quite often, perhaps every time you go online. If you look at the scanner feed link in my sig, you can see how you get around that. It should say something like mms://venger.no-ip.org/
Everytime someone clicks the link, it first goes to venger.no-ip.org, resolves the IP and routes your machine to mine. No-IP is a dynamic DNS service, free, and it checks the status of my IP address every 5 minutes. Something you might want to look into if yours is working...but check to see how yours is supposed to be resolving within your URL. More than likely it's just a matter of telling it what the name of your particular proxy is. -Rod-

It sounds like you have your port forwarded correctly in your router, based on previous posts.

Try these three things:

1. In the Icecast config file change <hostname>localhost</hostname> to <hostname>suwanneeriver29.selfip.net</hostname>

2. In #4 above, you indicated that the IP address on file at DYNDNS is different than your current IP address. You need to fix that right away. Also, if your internet IP is changing that often, you need to see if DynDNS has a little applet that can inform their servers everytime your Internet IP changes.

3. Once you do all this, completely turn off any software based firewall programs on the computer running Ice. Then see if someone can connect. If so, then turn back on the firewall software and then see if they can connect again, If so, you're done! If not, the problem is with settings/permissions in your software firewall.

DynDNS current IP is 192.168.0.1

1. I have changed the file name from localhost to my suwanneeriver29.selfip.net (nothing happening still says connecting I have my firewall/virus thing off.

I have question on blind 127.0.0.1 for icecast I wonder if I can change that to my ip.

It will work localhost:8000/live when I change that back to localhost in oddcast do I have to leave localhost server ip?
