I have fiddled around with the old ez scan and the rs 667 scanner program and i found the best way to update your local area:
below are some of the ways to add the sites and a small step by step on how to do this.Screenshot 2025-02-19 085645.pngScreenshot 2025-02-19 085725.pngScreenshot 2025-02-19 085743.pngScreenshot 2025-02-19 085831.pngScreenshot 2025-02-19 085931.png
note that on the sites alpha tag and lcn freq 1 and ect are used only
. and delete the first row so you wont get any invalid rows!!!

talkgroups are the same for the most part but the you need the d mode and alpha tags and talkgroup id modes labled Screenshot 2025-02-19 090535.pngScreenshot 2025-02-19 090558.png

i know its a short look on how it is done, but this is how i update the db for the scanner, now mind you this is per trunking group, and not the nation wide database:
but it helps to have the premium subscription for rr to do this, now a copy and past option is there as well, may be sorta messy, but it will work.
i will make a video of this when i can this weekend to do a step by step on this!

Is there a way to do this without a RR premium subscription? I'm specifically getting stuck with Talkgroup IDs for my state's P25 system. I was able to add a few that I knew were missing thanks to some notes left on the county page like "Police uses talkgroup 44153" but I know there are others that I'm missing.

I'm annoyed at Whistler for dropping the ball on db updates. The copyright notice in the programming software says I have a single license to use the data with my TRX-2 scanner but I don't see anyway to acquire the data now.

copy the tgids and alpha tags with the digi type on the page then paste from clipboard, same with system repeaters as well! it may not work over so good but you could create your own with microsoft excel and save as a cvs file

Not sure Radioshack update servers have been working for a while now that radioshack went under.
That was one of the perks of the OFFICIAL UPGRADE from Whistler was to get updates back.

:) Maybe a 'sticky' at the top of the three forums dealing with the RR database for compatible scanners detailing the steps needed to update manually (as opposed to the many individual forum posts that are 'lost' in the myriad of forum posts). This would in most regards make the repeated posts obsolete by just linking the posts to that 'sticky' and closing said post? Mods, is this possible to do? :)

:) Of course, this possible sticky MUST be written for the most novice (detailed in plain english for green novice so as to be 'confusion-free'). :)
