Howard County Animal Control (talkgroup 45936) no activity?

I’m monitoring local animal control talkgroups. I’ve been monitoring Howard County AC for a week and there’s been no activity. Meanwhile there’s tons of activity on PG, Montgomery, AA, and Baltimore County.

Anyone know if the talk group number is incorrect? Or what channel they actually use?

If you have a Uniden scanner, you can set it to "ID Scan" mode and monitor all talk groups until you hear the dog catcher.

Or they are dispatched on someone else's TG. We have that where AC, Park Rangers ect have their own TG but they don't get used most of the time, they are on just the sheriff dispatch TG.

That's the correct TG, but they don't use the radio very much in this county. Anytime they're needed, they get called on the phone.

Definitely. I used to work for Howard County Comminications and don't once remember them being called over the air

Actually if I remember correctly dispatching was listed in the ACO job descriptions so I believe they had their own base
