Howard County Fire

Two weeks ago I started noticing that during the daily 18:30 county fire radio check that I was only hearing the dispatcher and none of the firehouse responses. I used to hear the firehouse responses for every firehouse. Nothing has changed in my scanner configuration for several months and there are no locked out frequencies. Has anyone noticed this?

That is extremely weird... Since they are using edacs right? You should be able to hear it, what might be going on is they are replying on there own talkgroup, if you are able to becuase it looks like this tower is only analog open that channel up so you hear all of the transmissions for like a day and listen while they are doing the test and see if you can hear them talk then.

Have you checked the Howard County page lately? Many changes (more than 25) were made on 9-19. (I was looking at this page that night only because it was new information.
