HP1 Trunking

I have been getting familiar with my HP1 and am comfortable with Sentinal and the R&R database, would now like to try my hand at the trunking systems and freq. that may not be in the database I do have the extreme pkg. but not familiar with the different trunking systems? when i go to trunking discovery mode I get hung up on " select systems" I would certainly appreciate any suggestions or help on this subject. Thank you in advance for any help. ( my location is Ontario)

Trunking discovery allows you to find new (or unknown) talkgroups within a system, not new systems. You are asked to select an existing "system" from the database you have loaded. To populate a "new system" with TG information you would need to create a new system in Sentinal and provide it with the corresponding frequencies. Once you have established this, load it in memory and select it when you run trunking discovery.
Your best bet for new system frequency data, not in the RR database, would likely be FCC (or Canadian CC) license information.

So the HP-1 cannot just scan the frequencies if it stops on one, tells you if he stops on a P25, MOT, EDACS etc, system?

No there isn't a control channel only search in the HP-1
