Hi Folks,
I am programming up a HT1000 radio for my neighbor, receive only so they can get a taste of the scanner hobby.
trouble is, even when not in scan mode, the HT1000 has a pretty decent delay in audio before it starts receiving.
compared to my yeasu FT-2800, its about 1/2 a second. pretty annoying for those 1 second messages like "10-4" where you only hear "4" and the repeater drop.
any setting I should be checking? i know its not priority mode, since my scan type is set to non-priority.
I would just say forget it and give them a xts3000 rx only, but I wanted them to be able to have our fire tone out freq. and for it to go off for our local station via quick-call, but I dont have that feature on the xts.
Thanks,
Mark R.
