• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

So ive looked for awhile and haven't found a close answer, I have an HT1000 as a beater radio, it seems like the PL decode sometimes take up to a full second to open up (the radio is not scanning). Not sure if there is a fix for this as of now im just running it in carrier squelch but id like to run TPL squelch. Some info, I tried mute/unmute in STD/STD, as well as AND/STD and no difference. if you need any other info, I can post a screen shot of RSS settings. If it is a tweak in the radio service settings, please point me in the right direction as i have a service monitor im able to use to tune if need be.

Have you tried and/or? Being s older radio is it AN, BN, CN, DN? It'd possible it needs tuning to has hardware issues.

Is the squelch set too low and interference from things nearby a issue?

Yeah I’ve tried all three settings. I have the DN model. I’ve caried it with me to calls and it does it everywhere. I found another HT1000 with a different code plug programmed by a dealer with the same frequencies, and it’s doing the same thing. Must be the nature of the beast. I don’t like missing dispatch if they let up to quick so like I said before, I’ll go with an MT2000.

Hmmm I was gonna ask about mdc settings but if you are not using mdc decode then idk. Double check to he sire it isn't enabled. If it is there may be a time setting off in ghr mdc even though you don't use it. It can be enabled to decode and not tx.

Thats what I am leaning towards. MDC decode will delay the radio to unmute while its looking for that data packet. I would have the codeplug looked at. More so because you stated that two radios are doing the exact same thing.

If you want pm me and send me a copy of the plug and I can clone it to a ht1000 here and change couple of the rx to see if it has same issue here on a different radio.

Do other radios on the system act the same way any at all?

I have the MT2000 programmed up and it seems to open up fine. I’ll pm you the code plug to take a look at, this is my first time programming this series of motorolas. I’ve done radius and maxtrac mobiles but not a portable. I’m also going to put it on the bench and test injecting a signal with a PL and see what happens.

Do you have the 'Battery Saver' enabled on any of the channels? That can have a effect of slow decode.
